No first-timers make the cut this year in the Festival de Cannes line-up for films screening in competition, however, there’s plenty to get excited about here.
Official selections include Soderbergh's Liberace biopic (starring Matt Damon and Michael Douglas) Behind the Candelabra, Joel and Ethan Coen's Inside Llewyn Davis, Payne's father-son road trip tale Nebraska and Polanski's Venus in Fur.
There’s also the latest feature film from Oscar winner Asghar Farhadi The Past, and the latest collaboration between Ryan Gosling and Danish director Nicolas Winding Refn Only God Forgives.
