The relationship of Mina (Alba Rohrwacher) and Jude (Adam Driver) who meet by chance in New York City is put to the test when they have a child. Mina convinces herself that her child is special. When the child stops growing, she is certain that she must protect her son from any form of impurity from a hostile outside world.
