Dan (Phoenix Raei), a small-town cop, is barely holding onto his sanity after the death of his best friend. After his pet rooster is killed by a fox, Dan finally snaps and escapes to the bushes, seeking resolution and solace. Following a chance encounter with an eccentric hermit (Hugo Weaving) living amongst the trees, Dan suspects that this man may have been the last person to see Steve alive.
