A look back at Karl Lagerfeld's childhood in Nazi Germany. His mother takes him to his first fashion show. Lagerfeld is smitten and decides to go to Paris to become a couturier. He arrives in Paris in 1952, where fashion is in full swing. There, he meets Yves Saint Laurent, and the two young boys, each assistants in sought-after studios, immediately become friends. But competition grows between them.
