Set to the music of Benjamin Britten, this experimental silent film synthesises the poetry of Wilfred Owen (Nathaniel Parker) as it reenacts his experiences as a British soldier in World War I. Owen is haunted by the cruelty and violence that surrounds him in the trenches. He is determined to defeat the horrifying images by focusing on his love for an army nurse (Tilda Swinton).
