When screenwrier Paul Javal is asked to rewrite the screenplay of the Odyssey, which is being filmed by Fritz Lang in Rome, he sets in motion his own odyssey. En route to Rome with his wife Camille (Brigitte Bardot), who he adores, his wife tells him that she has nothing but contempt for him.
