From the mind of David Cronenberg; in the not-too-distant future, humankind is adapting to its toxic environment via mutation or surgery. Accompanied by his partner Caprice (Lea Seydoux), celebrity performance artist Saul Tenser (Viggo Mortensen) publicly showcases the metamorphosis of his organs in avant-garde performances. Their movements are tracked by Timlin (Kristen Stewart), a young investigator, as well as a mysterious group set on shedding light on the next phase of human evolution.
