Bas, a Dutch TV journalist, finds himself challenging the police, courts and media, as he attempts to uncover the truth about the controversial Deventer murder case. A media-smear campaign soon turns the lives of the accused, into a true nightmare. Disconcerted by this 'trial by media', Bas decides to fight the conspiracies with the facts, but to his frustration the image is stronger than reality. He goes to extremes to get the truth out: has anyone been wrongly accused by the judges or is there an innocent victim?
