Our History
Rialto Channel is 100% owned by New Zealand businessmen and fully programmed and managed by a team of New Zealand staff, based in Auckland New Zealand.
During the past ten years the channel has grown from a niche arthouse film channel to New Zealand's premiere independent specialist film, documentary and entertainment channel. Rialto Channel viewers are given a wider choice of diverse and engaging programming that is often not available anywhere else on New Zealand television.
Every month Rialto Channel offers its viewers a choice of over 20 new films - September offers compelling British Theatre titles including Stone of Destiny, Shadows In The Sun and Gracie!. Saturday night Rialto Premieres for September are Easy Virtue, Wendy and Lucy, What Just Happened and Samson and Delilah.
World Cinema this month showcases Rec 2 (Spain), Flame and Citron (Denmark), My Friends, My Loves (France), and North Face (Germany). September 'Real View' includes Abduction: The Megumi Yokota Story, A Soldier's Peace, The September Issue, The Judge and the General, and Milking The Rhino.
'Classic Film continues every Sunday night at 8.30pm with Dead Ringers, Brief Encounter, The African Queen and Abigail's Party.

Rialto Channel are thrilled to be involved with two of New Zealand's leading student radio stations - RDU98.5FM in Christchurch, and Radio One 91FM in Dunedin.
On RDU98.5FM, Rialto Channel sponsor the 'Breakfast With Spanky' show, on air every weekday from 7.30am-9.30am. Every Thursday on Radio 1, Rialto Channel sponsors 'Rialto Channel Breakfast' hosted by Aaron.
